The cure for bad breath can be as elusive as looking for a partner when you have a not-so-fresh-smelling mouth. Halitosis is often easy enough to get, and sometimes, a few bad breath remedies can immediately get rid of the problem. But if it is not attended to properly, it can stick, and become quite serious. Chronic bad breath, unfortunately, is a little harder to deal with. It doesn’t only smell worse, it persists much longer. It can be quite embarrassing, not to mention potentially affecting to your future dates or relationships.
As you might probably already know, halitosis is caused by foreign objects (i.e. bacteria) which sit around in your teeth. Bacteria come from everything: food, smoking, pollution, having a cold or the flu, tooth decay, and even your own saliva. Now, occasional bad breath (such as the kind that comes from eating a handful of garlic for example) can be dealt with by popping a mint (or two). (more…)

Chronic bad breath is a common predicament – and if you have it, you might have gotten it from bad brushing habits, or eating too many garlic-laden foods. The stench it leaves on your mouth is often enough to turn off your colleagues while you are talking to them – so imagine what your lover would say about it. If your lover is already complaining constantly about it, you better look for bad breath remedies before it’s too late. Here are tips and suggestions on what to do about bad breath so that you can have a fresher mouth – and possibly a better relationship.
How To Get Rid Of Bad Breath
• Drink lots of water.
• Brush your teeth at least twice a day. If possible, do it after every meal.
• Do not forget to floss your teeth.
• Avoid eating too much sweets or sticky food. Sugar tends to stay between the teeth and cause bad breath.
• Use a good mouth rinse.
• Change your toothbrush at least once every two months. Old brushes don’t do the job as well as new ones can, and they’re also highly susceptible to keeping bacteria. (more…)

How to get rid of chronic bad breath? A lot of people seem to look for the answer to this question. The condition is commonly known to be Halitosis. There are those who suffer from the condition in a very social way, hindering their society for fear of rejection or low self-esteem. Sadly, the cure for halitosis does not exist. That does not mean that it cannot be treated or managed with your constant care. There are several ways to make sure that chronic bad breath is lessened.
One bad breath cure is your saliva, believe it or not. That however does not mean that saliva alone can manage. You might want to pick up the habit of chewing gum. Chewing gum is a very good stimulant to get your salivary glands producing more. Saliva is, in its way, the body’s garden hose. It gathers bacteria and remaining food particles and washes them down, away from your mouth. Here’s a tip to consider if you decide to pick up the chewing gum habit. Why not try cinnamon-flavored chewing gum. Studies have shown that cinnamon has natural properties of decreasing bacteria in your mouth. (more…)

Any Stamford dentist will tell you that flossing is the best thing you can do for your teeth. There are many benefits from flossing. A person who flosses regularily will have less dental issues than a person who does not floss regularirly. Also, if you floss regularily you will have less cavaties and healthier gums than people who do not floss.
People who have constant cavaties are usually guilty of not flossing. Any Stamford dentist would recomend that a person should floss after every meal and at least floss once a day. Few people can keep up this busy schedule of flossing however and fall into the bad habit of not taking propper care of thier teeth. People have busy work or class schedules and are so tired by the end of a day that they just pass out. Also many people do not have very regular schedules. Some people work strange hours or different hours everyday. This can make it difficult for them to have a nightly routine to add flossing into. A Stamford dentist understands how real life can get in the way of anyone’s health and will work with a person to help find a balance.
Although it can be difficult, flossing is very important in the fight against cavaties. Everyone knows that food particles get stuck between teeth and need to be removed. A Stamford dentist though will also tell you all the other ways that not flossing affects your teeth. Mostly it has to do with the plaque build up between the teeth. This plaque builds and weakens the teeth. The weakened teeth are then prone to cavaties or worse. This is a big problem because of how hard those types of cavaties can be to find and difficult to fill. A Stamford dentist will encourage people to do all they can to avoid that scenerio. (more…)

Your dentist will recommend dentures as an option for replacing missing or if the current state of your natural teeth are beyond restoration.Several brands of denture cleaners are available.Partial dentures are used when one or more missing teeth are in either the upper or lower dental arch.Your bone and gums shrink over time, especially in the first six months after the extraction of the teeth.Because of this, dentures require daily cleaning.
Complete dentures are used when no remaining teeth are in the upper or lower dental arch. This is necessary to relieve any pressure points on the gum tissue that may be causing you pain or discomfort, smooth any rough spots, and at times allow for the proper fit.Improper denture care will trap bacteria under the denture, causing irritation of the tissue and may cause mouth sores and lesions or thrush, an oral yeast infection.Because of how dentures are constructed, speech may be affected for the first few weeks of wear.A reline is a procedure that reshapes the denture to your dental arch by adding more acrylic material to the denture. The different types of complete dentures include overdentures, immediate dentures, and conventional dentures.Talk to Your Dentist If you are unsure if dentures are right for your situation, make an appointment to discuss the treatment options that are right for you.If you are a candidate for dentures, your dentist may decide to refer you to a prosthodontist; a dentist that specializes in the replacement of missing teeth, or denturist, who is a formally trained and licensed professional that takes the necessary steps in order to fabricate customized dentures. This may cause your dentures to become loose, causing them to click together when talking or eating, slip off the arch during activity, or if very loose, fall out of your mouth. If you are having problems with pronunciation, try reading the newspaper aloud to practice your speech. They are designed to replace all the teeth in the dental arch. This is an article by Kelsey Munro that was recently published in The Sydney Morning Herald – Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
YOU may not want to see your dentist all that often but it would be worse if you couldn’t see one at all.
More than 650,000 Australians are on dental waiting lists, with an average waiting time of 27 months, according to latest figures.
Now, in an effort to tackle what has been called a silent epidemic of poor oral health, dentists are volunteering their time and skills to treat people in need as part of a new program. (more…)
